Bianca Trevino
Artist
Starting my artistic journey in 2011, the desire to create art that I attained soon became an unyielding obligation to myself to explore the inner mechanism of my creative consciousness. From small sketches to large scale projects, my art is a highly-personal reflection of myself and my life. I’ve been lucky enough to have live and created across 6 continente where I have participated in many collaborative projects, as well as exhibiting in a solo capacity. If you would like to find out more about my process, get in touch.

PROVIDING WOMEN A DIGNIFIED WORK
Women in West Africa are taught to hand produce beautiful leaf fabric, and are provided with a fair wage. We not only see beautiful products emerging, we see broken lives being made whole.

SOCIAL PRACTICE
Alongside her studio practice, Bianca transforms art into action. Her socially engaged projects — from collaborative soap-making and hand-dyed textiles to educational and sustainable initiatives — translate observation into tangible impact. Each work investigates cycles, fragility, and interconnection, creating a dialogue between material, place, and people. Through these projects, creativity becomes a tool for resilience, awareness, and ecological responsibility.
Material Conversion: Cacao
Alchémia — Lomé, Benin (2018–2020)
A collaborative soap-making initiative with women near cacao farms, transforming local waste into ecological products. The project creates income, builds skills, and fosters community resilience while connecting material, place, and people.

Living Materials
Jumpers for Education — Benin & Togo (2018–present)
Hand-dyed garments made from Beninese cotton and upcycled overstock fabrics fund children’s schooling. Each piece embodies cycles of material, labor, and social responsibility, transforming textile practice into educational impact while celebrating local craft traditions.
Material Ecologies — Southeast East (2015)
Natural leaf fibers are transformed into durable, tactile bags in collaboration with local artisans. Each bag explores material innovation, ecological responsibility, and contemporary form, creating sustainable design that bridges culture, craft, and creativity.

Open Knowledge Infrastructure
